Mini-Courses for Graduate Students

Non-credit short courses in academic writing and oral communication. Priority registration for new and returning graduate students who speak English as a second language. Others wait-listed until space is available.

Writing Groups

Small groups of writers from similar disciplines share, read, and discuss their writing with an ESL-trained group leader. For all UNC students and scholars who speak English as a second language.

Speaking Groups

Groups of native and non-native English speakers discuss American culture, University life, and language learning with an ESL-trained group leader. For all UNC students and scholars who speak English as a second language.

Workshops

Occasional workshops on useful topics for international students and all English-language learners. For all UNC students and scholars who speak English as a second language.
