Durham Tech runs free ESL Classes and non-credit courses in accent reduction, reading, oral communication, TOEFL preparation, and more. Courses range from beginning to advanced and are offered in many locations, including the University Methodist Church on Franklin St.
North Carolina State University
NCSU’s Intensive English Program is offered to NCSU applicants who need more English study before pursuing their degree. Offered during fall and spring semester. Summer Institute classes are offered in a five-week intensive program for students, business people, and professionals.

CHICLE Language Institute in Chapel Hill-Carrboro, NC
CHICLE is a private organization that offers a variety of English classes scheduled on demand. When three or more students at the same level can meet at the same time, a group class can be scheduled. Private classes are also available at all levels in pronunciation, idiomatic English, grammar, accent reduction, TOEFL preparation, business writing, and academic writing. A car-sharing service that UNC participates in. Several cars are parked on campus, which, for a small fee, you can reserve hourly for up to three days with a US or international driver’s license.
