                  Previous Experience/References

I believe everyone has a right to be heard! And I am passionate about helping people surmount obstacles that keep them from being understood. I have taught ESL for Durham Tech Community College and the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City School system, and taught Spanish in Durham and Chapel Hill schools. I now volunteer as a writing coach in the Chapel Hill schools. I have an extensive background in copy-editing, journalism and public relations, including at the Center for Applied Linguistics, Ventana Press, several newspapers and magazines, and at advertising agencies in Raleigh and New York City. I served as an educator at Latino community organizations in Seattle and Chapel Hill-Carrboro. If you are having difficulty with writing, English grammar, or just understanding American culture, it will be my pleasure to help you.
